Kensley C. Keys

Broadcaster, Video Producer, Actor

Kensley Keys is a multi-versed jack of many  trades in many facets of video production, broadcasting and acting. He grew up in Laurel, MS, graduating from Northeast Jones High School in 2002 and furthered his education at the University of Southern Mississippi. During his undergrad,Kensley was the Sports Reporter for the university's news broadcast, DJ for the university's radio station WUSM-88.5 FM  and worked with Athletic Department as a Sports Video Assistant. 

 

After earning his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2009, he began his career in broadcast news in 20010 when he joined WDBD FOX40 News in Jackson, MS as a Production Assistant. In 2013, Kensley enjoyed a brief stints with other broadcast stations before taking a break from the broadcast industry to jumpstart his own video production company, Scenic Films, LLC. Kensley received his first opportunity on the big screen in 2014 with his role in the feature film "The Free State of Jones" starring Matthew McConaughey. After the release of Free State of Jones, Kensley accepted roles in two TV series Quees Sugar (co-produced by Oprah Winfrey) and NCIS: New Orleans. 

 

In 2016, Kensley returned to his hometown of Laurel, MS to join WDAM Channel 7 News as a Production Assistant. When his time was up at WDAM Kensley decided to venture out and use his creative talents in other capacities.

Kensley is a die-hard fan of the New Orleans Saints and Golden Eagle football. He enjoys acting, filming and being on the air!
